Precautions For Using Diesel Generators

Feb 17, 2025

In today's society, diesel generators, as a backup power supply device, play an important role in many fields. However, in order to ensure its safe and stable operation, the correct use method is essential.

First, before starting the diesel generator, carefully check the levels of various media such as fuel, oil, and coolant. The fuel should be sufficient, the oil should be within the specified liquid level range, and the coolant should not be insufficient. At the same time, ensure that the pipes are firmly connected and there is no leakage. In addition, the environment around the generator should be cleaned to avoid accumulation of debris to prevent safety hazards during operation.

When starting, follow the correct sequence. Generally, turn on the fuel switch first, then turn the start key to the start position, and release it after a while. If the start is unsuccessful at one time, do not start frequently, and try again after a few minutes to avoid damaging the starting system.

During the operation of the generator, pay close attention to various parameters. For example, observe the oil pressure gauge to ensure that the oil pressure is within the specified range; pay attention to the water temperature gauge to prevent the water temperature from being too high. At the same time, regularly check whether the output voltage and frequency of the generator are stable to ensure the quality of power supply.

In addition, pay attention to the reasonable distribution of loads. Do not let the generator run in an overloaded state for a long time, otherwise it will affect the service life of the generator. The load equipment should be reasonably arranged according to the rated power of the generator.

Finally, when the generator stops running, do not rush to turn off the fuel switch. Let it idle for a few minutes to consume the fuel in the combustion chamber, and then turn off the fuel switch and the power switch. In addition, pay attention to the storage environment of the generator, keep it dry and ventilated, and perform regular maintenance, such as replacing air filters, fuel filters, etc., to ensure that the generator is always in good operating condition.

Following these precautions for the use of diesel generators can enable us to make better use of this equipment and provide reliable power guarantee for production and life.
